EFL will be carrying out maintenance work on the 132,000volts Wailoa to Cunningham Road Transmission Line this weekend to replace corroded line hardware on towers.

EFL will also be carrying out major maintenance work to upgrade of the Power Transformer at the 132kV/33kV Cunningham Road Zone Substation.
To enable EFL to undertake this exercise, EFL will de-energise the 132kV transmission line that transmits power from the Wailoa Hydroelectric Power Station to the 132kV/33kV Cunningham Road Zone Substation from 5:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday 14th August 2022 to allow our teams to carry out the work safely.
During this period, EFL will rely on power supply from its thermal Power Stations at Deuba, Rokobili, Kinoya and Korovou to supply electricity to all our valued customers in the Central Division from the Matanipusi Hill (Queens Road) to the Rakiraki District (along Kings Road).
While all efforts will be made to ensure that our valued customers are not affected by this planned maintenance exercise, power supply to our valued customers in the Central Division of Viti Levu could be affected in the event of the failure of any of our thermal generators in the Central Division, or in the event of any unrelated fault on the network.
EFL will do its utmost to ensure that any power interruptions are kept to a minimum.
Maintenance works are planned to be carried out on Sunday due to the low electricity demand on this day, which will result in minimized or no disruption to our valued customers in the Central Division of Viti Levu.
In the event the weather conditions are unfavorable, then this exercise will be postponed and our valued customers will be informed accordingly.
