Opposition parliamentarian Jone Usamate labelled as ‘idiotic’, the Coalition Government’s rhetoric on the 2050 Water Sector Strategy.

“It is the height of naivety for this Government to imagine that just because it came into being that this Water Sector Strategy actually came in,” he said in Parliament on Monday.

“The formulation of this was something that was already in place, so to try to take all the applause or credit for that, is really, really idiotic to say the least.

“If you go back to the National Development Plan for 2017 – 2037, you look at what is one of the major policies there, one of the major policy outcome is to come up with a next stage of the Water Strategy. That was part of the 2017 – 2022 plan, so these things were already in motion.”
