A total of 152 officers from the Fiji Police Force and the Tuvalu Police Service have successfully completed a Certificate in Policing Level 4, a nationally recognised qualification under the Fiji National Qualifications Framework.

The graduates, who form Basic Recruits Course Training Batch 69, underwent a revised four-month training programme focused on delivering professional policing services that are accountable, ethical, reliable and aligned with modern policing standards.

Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu officiated at the certificate presentation ceremony and used the occasion to remind the recruits of the high standards expected within the policing profession.

He stressed that integrity and discipline must remain at the centre of their duties, warning that misconduct and disregard for the law would not be tolerated.

Commissioner Tudravu said recruits could not rely on inexperience as an excuse for poor conduct, emphasising that all officers are expected to uphold the law and the ethical principles of policing from the beginning of their careers.

He encouraged the graduates to remain committed to the values and training they had received, noting that a successful policing career depends on working within the law and serving with honour.

The updated training programme was delivered with support from the New Zealand Police through the Fiji Police Partnership Programme. It included enhanced investigative training aimed at strengthening officers’ investigative skills and capabilities.

Civil society organisations also contributed to the programme by providing training on human rights, gender-based violence and victim-centred policing, helping ensure recruits are equipped to meet community expectations and international policing standards.

Batch 69 is scheduled to officially pass out during a ceremony at the Fiji Police Nasova Grounds on 19 June 2026, marking the completion of their basic recruit training.
