A new Learning Center has been launched by the Foundation for the Education of the Needy Children or FENC Fiji, in Tovata, Makoi today.

Head of Operations Nirmala Nambiar says the centre is particularly for children from Year 3 to 13 to utilize for educational revision.

These revision classes will be supervised by Specialists, who are already facilitated by FENC Fiji through the Ministry of Education.

“The learning Centre is our next project which we have brought back to its new beginnings. FENC Fiji used to have learning centers few years ago pre- covid but after COVID this phased out and died a natural death. In partnership with Tovata Methodist Church we today are launching a new more modern learning center”, Nambiar said.

The centre is supported by the funding from BRED Bank and other support from Capital Insurance.

“These Learning centers could not be possible without the support of our sponsors, Bred Bank Fiji with its partners (Ashreet Padarath) who will be undertaking a full refurbishment of this learning center in November costing over $30, 000 and this includes the outer and inner look in terms of capital works and major refurbishments. Thank You Bred Bank”, she said.

“We are making this launch a timely one to help the children in the community with their preparation towards external exams and the final exams,” she said.

The center will commence with children in Year 12 and 13 and then to the lower forms, and will help improve the pass rate for nearby schools.

Classes will officially start from next Monday.
