The Minister for Policing, Hon. Ioane Naivalurua, met with Australian Federal Police (AFP) Commissioner Reece Kershaw this morning (March 3, 2025) to reinforce bilateral security ties.
Also in attendance was Australia’s High Commissioner to Fiji, HE Ewen McDonald, along with an AFP delegation.
The discussions focused on enhancing police support, AI capabilities, and the development of a new police headquarters in Fiji. Minister Naivalurua acknowledged Australia’s ongoing support, emphasizing the importance of continued collaboration between the Fiji Police Force and AFP.
Commissioner Kershaw reaffirmed the AFP’s commitment to strengthening Fiji’s policing capacity and extended an invitation for Fijian officers to train alongside their Australian counterparts to gain practical experience.
