Fiji Television Limited, the home of Rugby World Cups in Fiji, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Free TV Australia that will enable the distribution of premium World Rugby content to broadcasters across the Pacific region.

In 2025, Fiji One secured a landmark three-year agreement with World Rugby covering some of the sport’s most prestigious competitions, including the Women’s Rugby World Cup England 2025, Pacific Nations Cup 2025–2027, World Rugby Junior World Championship 2025–2027 and the most anticipated Men’s Rugby World Cup Australia 2027.

The acquisition of these rights represented a significant milestone for Fiji One and reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to bringing world-class rugby content to audiences throughout Fiji and the Pacific.

For decades, Fiji One has proudly been the home of major rugby events, connecting Fijians with the sport they love. Today, that commitment extends beyond traditional television broadcasting to include digital and mobile platforms, ensuring fans can access content wherever and however they choose.

Through Fiji One and the iO platform, available online and via mobile applications, rugby fans can enjoy live and on-demand coverage whether at home, at work, or on the move. “As audience behaviour continues to evolve, it is important that we meet viewers where they are,” said Sunjeewa Perera, Chief Executive Officer of Fiji One.

The newly signed agreement with Free TV Australia marks an important next step in Fiji One’s regional strategy, allowing World Rugby content to be distributed more effectively across key Pacific markets. Fiji One and Free TV Australia have enjoyed a strong and collaborative relationship over many years. Through this partnership, Free TV Australia will support the delivery and distribution of content using its established broadcast infrastructure, helping ensure that rugby fans across the Pacific can continue to enjoy access to major international tournaments.

The first phase of the partnership will focus on the distribution of the World Rugby Junior World Championship, commencing in June 2026, followed by the Pacific Nations Cup in September 2026. This initiative is expected to significantly improve accessibility to premium rugby content for Pacific broadcasters while supporting the sustainability of free-to-air broadcasting throughout the region.
