People from the Province of Tailevu and surrounding communities can now return eligible beverage containers and receive refunds while contributing to a cleaner environment after Return & Earn Fiji opens a new collection center at Korovou Market.
The new facility becomes the 15th Return & Earn Fiji collection center nationally and the third collection site within the Nausori Town Council municipality.
The Korovou Market collection center will create greater access to recycling opportunities for households, schools, businesses, market vendors and community groups across the Tailevu corridor, helping to increase beverage container recovery while reducing litter in communities.
Return & Earn Fiji Representative Dwain Qalovaki said that in August alone, the Manoca Depot and Nakasi Market Return and Earn centers recovered an impressive 181,909 beverage containers, comprising 63,019 plastic bottles and 118,890 aluminum cans.
These results reflect the growing commitment of residents, businesses and community groups to the Return & Earn programme and demonstrate the positive impact of accessible recycling facilities.
These collections represent an important step towards the challenge issued to the Nausori Town Council to recover over one million beverage containers every month within the municipality.
“We continue to see that when collection facilities are located close to where people live, work and shop, participation increases significantly. Korovou will make it easier for more people to return their plastic bottles and aluminum cans, earn refunds and contribute to cleaner communities.” Qalovaki said.
Nausori Town Council Special Administrator Paula Navunisaravi highlighted the broader benefits the programme is delivering across the municipality.
“The opening of the Korovou Market site means that Nausori Town Council now hosts three Return & Earn collection centers across the municipality including Manoca Depot, Nakasi Market and Korovou Market. This expansion ensures more communities have access to a convenient recycling service and the financial benefits that come with it” he said.
The opening follows the recent launch of the Return & Earn Fiji collection center at Nakasi Market and forms part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to expand convenient recycling infrastructure across Fiji.
More than 7.5 million beverage containers were recovered through the Return & Earn Fiji network during the first six months of 2026, highlighting growing participation in the programme nationwide.
Return & Earn Fiji currently operates across eight municipalities and continues to expand its collection network in partnership with municipal councils and Fiji’s beverage industry.
