The Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma has officially opened its Bose Ko Viti 2026, bringing together ministers and representatives from across the country.
The nine-day conference is being held in Suva from August 20 to 28, with discussions focusing on issues affecting the Church, its ministers and congregations.
President of the Methodist Church in Fiji and Rotuma, Reverend Dr. Semisi Turagavou, highlighted that the conference is an opportunity for the Church to reflect on its progress and work towards strengthening its future.
“I am hoping that the Spirit of the Lord will liberate us individually and communally as members of the Methodist Church in Fiji” Rev. Dr. Turagavou highlighted.
Secretary for Communications and Overseas Missions, Reverend Lote Raboila, said the conference is also an important time for ministers from the 59 divisions to come together after a year of serving in different parts of the country.
“It’s also a time for ministers who have been serving in the 59 divisions to actually come back together after one year” Rev. Raboila said.
This is an opportunity for them to come back, to meet their colleagues and share their experiences before they go back into the ministry” he added.
The conference will also consider decisions and issues carried forward from meetings held throughout the year, including matters affecting the Church’s different departments and levels.
Reverend Raboila stated that the conference is also a time for ministers to prepare for the year ahead, including postings and appointments within the Church.
“So, it’s going to be a full packed week. And there is going to be a lot of things that we will be looking forward to and a lot of decisions that are going to be done” he stated.
The 2026 Bose Ko Viti is being held under the theme “Elevating Christ’s Church to Another Level”.
