In Fiji:
Two children have been placed under the care of a relative in Lautoka following a report of alleged abuse and neglect at a home along Sukanaivalu Road.
Police and Social Welfare officers attended the property last night and removed the children from the home before arranging for them to stay with a relative.
Authorities say efforts were made to reunite the children with their mother, but she did not want to live with them.
The Fiji Police Force is reminding members of the public that under the Child Care and Protection Act 2024, failing to report suspected child abuse is an offence.
Authorities are urging anyone who has concerns about the safety or wellbeing of a child to report it to the relevant authorities.
