Hundreds gathered at Albert Park this morning for the 9th annual Bara Battle, formerly known as the Wheelbarrow Race, hosted by the Frank Hilton Organisation.

The high-energy event, which mixes fun with fundraising, aims to support children with disabilities across Fiji.

President of the Frank Hilton Organisation, Ritesh Dutt, shared that over $1 million has been raised through the event since its inception.

“That figure is impressive on paper,” he said, “but what’s more inspiring is what it represents, a community coming together to change lives.”

Reigning champions Fortech once again claimed victory, winning the race for the second year in a row despite having only four days to prepare.

“We are here once again to retain our title,” said team manager Dharmendra Swami.

“It’s not just about winning, it’s about being part of something meaningful.”
