The Minister for Agriculture and Waterways, Tomasi Tunabuna, recently visited 20 young boys at the Inspire Pacific Village in the Western Division, encouraging them to embrace second chances and build resilience through purpose and faith.
Hon. Tunabuna commended Inspire Pacific for integrating agriculture into its rehabilitation programs, describing the initiative as a powerful tool for personal growth and empowerment.
“The Ministry is proud to support Inspire Pacific in this noble initiative. By integrating agriculture into rehabilitation, we are helping our young people gain practical life skills while restoring their confidence and purpose,” said Tunabuna.
He reminded the participants that their future remains theirs to shape:
“Every effort you make today every seed you plant brings you one step closer to a new beginning.”
Inspire Pacific, a registered non-profit Charitable Trust, focuses on youth empowerment through rehabilitation, mentorship, leadership, and community support programs.
Through its Tagane Mai program, the organization hosts camps that provide a structured and supportive environment for young participants to develop life skills through sports, arts, music, and leadership activities.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Waterways has pledged its continued support, assisting Inspire Pacific in launching farming projects such as backyard gardens, poultry farming, beekeeping, and commercial agriculture initiatives.
These projects aim to equip participants with sustainable livelihood skills while fostering discipline, self-confidence, and responsibility turning farming into both a source of healing and hope.
