The Government of Fiji has extended its warm congratulations to the Government and people of the Republic of Korea in celebration of Korea’s National Foundation Day.

Representing His Excellency the President, the Acting President and Head of State, His Lordship Chief Justice Salesi Temo, attended the commemorative event alongside Cabinet Ministers and members of the diplomatic corps.

Delivering remarks on behalf of the Fijian Government, the Chief of Protocol, Mrs. Kiti Temo, conveyed Fiji’s sincere congratulations and reflected on the enduring partnership between the two nations; one that has flourished over 54 years of diplomatic relations.

Fiji and Korea continue to strengthen cooperation across key development areas, including renewable energy, health, education, agriculture, and climate resilience.

Korea’s continued support through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), which currently manages 13 active projects in Fiji valued at more than USD $72 million; underscores the depth of the bilateral relationship.

As both nations marked this important national occasion, Fiji reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with Korea to build a more inclusive, secure, and sustainable future for both peoples.
