France captain Kylian Mbappé marked a major milestone in his illustrious career, making his 100th appearance for France as Les Bleus secured a hard-fought victory in their FIFA World Cup Group I clash.
At just 27 years old, Mbappé joined an elite group of French internationals to reach the century mark, further cementing his status as one of the greatest players of his generation.
The Paris-born forward first debuted for France in 2017 and has since become a central figure in the national team’s success, helping them win the 2018 FIFA World Cup and reach another final in 2022.
Reflecting on the achievement, Mbappé described reaching 100 caps as a tremendous honour, paying tribute to his teammates, coaches and supporters who have been part of his journey.
“It’s a special moment. Representing France has always been a dream, and reaching 100 matches is something I never imagined when I first started,” he said.
Since making his international debut as a teenager, Mbappé has amassed an impressive collection of goals, assists and records.
He is already among France’s all-time leading scorers and remains one of the most feared attackers in world football.
With France among the favourites to lift the World Cup trophy once again, Mbappé’s century of appearances serves as another chapter in an extraordinary international career that still has many years ahead of it.
