The Rotuma Island Council received a new 4×4 twin cab vehicle from the  People’s Coalition Government to help them enhance their operational efficiency.

The vehicle, costing approximately $70,000, was handed over by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to Council administrator Gagaj Niomfag Varea.

The council, which previously had only one aged vehicle, sees this addition as crucial for daily tasks, including monitoring development projects.

The initiative is part of the government’s commitment to support Rotuma’s autonomy and cultural integrity under the Rotuma Act.
