Fiji’s Judiciary welcomed its new Chief Justice, Justice Salesi Temo, who was sworn in yesterday by President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu at the State House.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, Speaker of Parliament Filimone Jitoko, Cabinet Ministers and members of the Judiciary.
Justice Temo, who has served as Acting Chief Justice since January 2023, brings over 30 years of judicial experience, including roles as a Puisne Judge, Court of Appeal member and Supreme Court Judge.
He joined the Judiciary in 1994 as a Resident Magistrate and was Chief Magistrate from 1997-2000.
His appointment reflects the dedication to upholding the rule of law and strengthening access to justice for the people of Fiji.
