Former Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has been denied bail to travel to Singapore for medical assessment by the Suva High Court.
Chief Justice Salesi Temo while delivering his ruling this morning says the medical evidence did not specifically indicate the claims of stroke and heart problem.
This was Sayed- Khaiyum’s fourth bail application.
According to Sayed-Khaiyum’s lawyers , their client suffered from a stroke and ischemic heart disease last month and was hospitalised at the Aspen managed Lautoka Hospital.
Justice Temo adds Sayed-Khaiyum’s medical problem can be investigated and resolved in Fiji.
He adds Sayed-Khaiyum must remain in Fiji and appear for trial scheduled from the 15th of September to the 3rd of October.
