The Ministry of Trade, Co-operatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications in Fiji launched the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code. This was led by the Asian Development Bank, with the aim to empower women-owned and women-led businesses. 

The Ministry is actively involved in various initiatives such as developing digital strategies and supporting women micro,small and medium enterprises through grant programmes.

Public consultations on alternative finance laws saw significant participation from women and efforts are ongoing to create an integrated ecosystem to help women-led businesses grow. 

The Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code will strengthen these efforts by focusing on policy frameworks, private sector engagement and knowledge sharing. 

Fiji becomes the third country globally to adopt the code, signaling a commitment from various government bodies to support women entrepreneurs. 

The Ministry pledges its continued support to initiatives like the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code to bridge gender gaps and foster the success of women-owned businesses in Fiji.
