Fourteen children have received life-saving heart surgeries at the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital this week.

Hospital director Dr Krupali Tappoo said the feat was made possible through the collaborative efforts of a leading team of specialists from the United States and around the world, led by renowned pediatric surgeon Dr Shaun Setty.

Dr Setty emphasized the complexity of the cases encountered during the surgical mission and noted the hospital’s capability in treating children with intricate heart conditions just two years since its establishment.

Dr Rebecca Kameny, a pediatric cardiac intensivist from Stanford University, California, expressed her delight in being part of the international team at the Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital.

She said the satisfaction derived from caring for the children and witnessing their post-surgery smiles made their efforts worth it.

The Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital has conducted 274 life-saving heart surgeries and provided over 16,000 children with free echocardiograms. The surgeries will continue throughout the weekend, ensuring ongoing critical care for those in need.
