BSP lends a hand to Lomary Secondary School

In a bid to enhance the learning experience of the 372 students at Lomary Secondary School, BSP Financial Group Limited’s (BSP) Navua and Samabula branches successfully completed and handed over their latest community project.

The project involved the construction of additional walkways, installation of roofing on all walkways connecting various school buildings such as classrooms, ablution blocks, and the canteen, and renovations to the ablution blocks.

In addition to the sheltered walkways and to assist the school’s Water, Sanitation and Hygiene program (WASH), several taps were installed throughout the school. 

“This project underscores BSP’s commitment to community and vanua,” said BSP General Manager Retail Ravindra Singh. 

“We are delighted to celebrate the culmination of our collaborative effort with this school and the Ministry of Education to enhance the learning environment for 372 students”.

He said BSP’s Community Project Program is driven by a shared social commitment with external partners to foster positive change within communities.

“The dedication and hard work of our branch staff on this project showcase our commitment to serving and uplifting the communities we are a part of.”

Head Boy Tevita Tuiloma, expressed the school and students’ gratitude. He told the BSP team, “Your project has brought joy and smiles to the students and teachers of Lomary.”

School principal Josua Tawake spoke about other improvements being undertaken at the school with the blessing of the Parish Priest, Fr Gabiriele Dulunaqio, and the landowners, the Nayacalevu family. He said other developments in the pipeline included a proposed Technical Training Centre
