A former Postmaster at the Keiyasi Post Office has been convicted of theft and falsification of documents by the Sigatoka Magistrates Court following a case brought by the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption (FICAC).

Paulo Ramasima was found guilty on two charges, with the judgment delivered on 9 July 2026 in the matter of FICAC v Paulo Ramasima (MACD 1/21).

The Court found that between 3 August 2017 and 30 June 2018, Ramasima dishonestly took $17,972.55 in cash, along with Post Fiji Limited stock valued at $591.93 and folio stock worth $610.36.

The Court also determined that on 16 April 2018, Ramasima falsified a Received Telegram Form and a payment voucher involving $13,000.

After considering the evidence presented, the Court was satisfied that the prosecution had proven both offences beyond reasonable doubt and convicted Ramasima on the charges of theft and falsification of documents.

Sentencing has not yet been delivered, with the Court directing both the prosecution and defence to submit their sentencing and mitigation documents within the required timeframe.

The matter will return to court on 31 August 2026 for a compliance check. Ramasima was represented by the Legal Aid Commission, while FICAC Counsel Joshua Prasad appeared for the prosecution.
