45-year-old Sairusi Senilawalawa who is charged with the death of a 38 year old man in Sakoca over the weekend, appeared before Magistrate Benjamin Lomaloma in the Nasinu Magistrate Court today.
Senilawalawa is charged with one count of murder and two counts of assault causing bodily harm.
The court heard that on the 21st of April, he allegedly physically assaulted his de-facto partner, and another man, with intent to cause bodily harm.
On the same day, the accused allegedly murdered a 38-year-old man who tried to intervene.
Senilawalawa informed the court that he had sustained several injuries during the incident and requested medical attention, which was then granted by Magistrate Lomaloma.
Senilawalawa has been remanded in custody.
The case has been transferred to the Suva High Court, and will be called again next Friday.
